Three people were killed in Oswego, Illinois today when a car collided with a semi truck. The accident happened on Route 126 according to Illinois State Police. The accident report stated that the three individuals who were killed were riding in a Ford Coupe when they pulled out in front of the truck. The collision was enough to flip the semi truck over onto its side. The driver of the semi truck was injured but is expected to recover quickly.
Although all of the details have not yet been released, it would appear that the fault lies with the driver of the Ford Coupe. However, a truck accident investigation may show something very different. The road conditions may have been poor, inhibiting the driver from seeing the truck. Also, the truck driver may not have done everything that they could have to avoid hitting the vehicle. A percentage of fault would then be determined to show how much responsibility each of the parties involved had.
