Reckless Driver Hurts Trucker & Tears Roof Off of His Cab

Commercial trucking injury lawyers at Arnold & Itkin filed suit on behalf of a St. Louis truck driver who was blindsided by another 18-wheeler piloted by an aggressive driver, who tried to pass his vehicle on the right. The reckless driver’s trailer smashed into the passenger side of our client’s truck cab, tearing the hood off in the process and damaging the truck extensively. The impact rocked the cab and caused our client to sustain intense neck, back, shoulder, head, and elbow injuries.

Commercial trucks weigh up to 80,000 pounds, travel at high speeds, and require large braking distances in order to stop effectively. It’s imperative that truck operators drive with caution and patience; otherwise, they’ll attempt dangerous maneuvers like the one that injured our client all over his body. In situations like these, it isn’t just the at-fault driver who is to blame. The responsibility lies with the trucking company that employed him, because it was their hiring practices that put a dangerous and aggressive driver behind the wheel of a massive machine.

We look forward to holding the trucking company that employed this dangerous driver, a company which is responsible for putting a reckless trucker behind the wheel of a commercial vehicle. We intend to secure a result that allows our client to move on with his life in peace.

The case was filed in Marion County, Oregon.
