Kyle became a lawyer because he wanted to spend his life making a tangible difference in others’ lives. Kyle grew up in East Texas where he was instilled with an unwavering commitment to represent people—not corporations. It has been his great honor to secure numerous life-changing results for those facing insurmountable challenges from companies that wrongfully refuse to be held accountable. Kyle has built an exceptional reputation for holding corporations accountable on behalf of his clients with an unwavering dedication to fighting for his clients until they get the compensation that they deserve.

In a recent trial, Kyle represented a young woman who was struck by a Union Pacific train. Union Pacific refused to take responsibility and tried to blame the plaintiff for her own injuries. However, the jury refused to believe Union Pacific’s excuses. Instead, the jury recognized that Kyle’s common-sense approach was right. The jury accordingly held Union Pacific responsible and awarded a record-breaking $557 million verdict, one of the largest in the history of Texas for a single-plaintiff injury case.

Two weeks before his trial against Union Pacific, Kyle tried a case against Talos in Federal Court in Louisiana. Talos repeatedly made excuses and refused to take responsibility for the tragic death of the plaintiff who was killed on an offshore platform, instead they blamed his co-workers for the event. After a nine-day trial, the jurors unanimously held Talos accountable and awarded $27.7 million to the plaintiff’s family. This verdict was a record-setting verdict for a wrongful death case in the state.

Kyle tried a heartbreaking case on behalf of a young woman who was shot in her college apartment. This brave woman filed the lawsuit for relief from her own catastrophic injuries and to prevent this from happening to anyone else. However, she succumbed to her injuries before trial. After her death, Kyle continued to fight tirelessly on her behalf. Kyle took the case to trial in her memory. After enduring two weeks of Kyle’s unrelenting questioning and fierce trial strategy, the defendants settled the case for a confidential amount that was many multiples of the pretrial offer. As a result of this hard-won settlement, the client’s family was able to name a college auditorium in her honor so that she will never be forgotten.

Recently, Kyle represented a client who was seriously burned in a paper mill explosion. He took on multiple companies that refused responsibility during the litigation. Two of the companies refused to settle the claims for fair value and instead pushed the case to trial. The insurance companies bet wrong. After a three-week trial—just one day after Kyle’s closing arguments—the jury came back with a $33 million award, not including pre-judgment interest or punitive damages. The result was more than 33 times what the companies had offered to settle the case before trial. The verdict was ranked #40 in the United States.

Kyle’s success as a trial lawyer isn’t recent—it started early in his career. He was one of the youngest attorneys to be awarded lifetime memberships into both the Million Dollar Advocates Forum and Multi-Million Dollars Advocates Forum. He was also quickly selected by The National Trial Lawyers to be included as a “Top 40 Under 40” lawyer for multiple years in a row. Kyle has also been inducted into the Best Lawyers in America and has been featured in Texas Monthly magazine as a Super Lawyers® Rising Star℠ in 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021. He was then recognized by Super Lawyers® in 2022, 2023 and 2024. In 2020, Texas Monthly magazine also recognized Kyle in the top 100 Up-and-Coming Attorneys in Texas. He has also been recognized as the Nation’s Top One Percent of Trial Lawyers by the National Association of Distinguished Counsel and by The American Institute of Trial Lawyers as the 2020 Personal Injury Litigator of the Year. He has similarly been recognized by Best Lawyers® for admiralty and maritime law, mass tort litigation, and product liability litigation multiple years in a row. He has also been awarded Best of the Bar—a designation reserved for the few lawyers with record-breaking verdicts.

Kyle’s journey began at the University of Texas in Austin, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in government with business foundations, achieving university honors. He later pursued his passion for law at South Texas College of Law where he earned his law degree.
